MarkDown One is a writing tool, not a note-taking service. It opens your own files, it writes your own files, and it works the same whether or not you are connected.

• Markdown editing

  Source with syntax highlighting, line numbers and per-document undo. Bold, headings, links and code from the toolbar, the menu or the keyboard — and nine document templates to start from.

• Live preview

  Edit, Split and Read. Tables with column alignment, task lists, quotes and fenced code highlighted in 32 languages, rendered as you type and never stale.

• Documents in tabs

  Several documents open at once, each with its own history. The whole session comes back when you relaunch: the folder, the tabs in order, the caret and the scroll of each.

• Workspaces and projects

  Open a folder as a file tree, or as a documentation project with its own ordered navigation, groups and home page — built from a folder you already have, without moving a single file.

• Search that reaches everything

  Find and replace in the document with real regular expressions and capture groups, or search a whole workspace with results grouped by file, line numbers and snippets.

• Outline and contents

  A live H1–H6 outline of the document, foldable, following your caret — and a generated table of contents whose anchors work in the preview and in every export.

• Export

  A self-contained HTML file with its images inside it, a real Word .docx that can be poured into your own reference document, an EPUB publication, and PDF on macOS.

• Import

  Word and EPUB documents open as Markdown you can edit, keeping their headings, lists, tables and pictures.

• Your work is protected

  Unsaved text is copied aside every two seconds and offered back after an unclean shutdown. It is never written over your own file, which stays exactly as you left it until you save.
